On Earth Day, Greening Greenpoint worked students and families of exness app download for pc Greenpoint Eco-School PS 31 to steward street trees surrounding the school! Volunteers participated in hands-on tree stewardship where they cleaned, weeded, and mulched trees.
Greening Greenpoint is almost finished with spring sidewalk repair exness download work! We have been busy removing and replacing up-lifted sidewalks to create a healthy growing environment for our trees and a safe walking surface for our neighbors.

This past weekend a little snow didn't stop Greenpoint community members and volunteers from coming together to recycle their holiday trees at MulchFest! Holiday trees from the community were chipped into mulch that volunteers spread around trees in the park to insulate and nourish them. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and recycled their tree!
On November 11th, Greening Greenpoint and Greenpoint Eco-Schools hosted a stewardship day in McCarren Park. During the day, students and volunteers mulched park trees, planted daffodil bulbs, completed a tree species scavenger hunt, and went on a bird watching walk.
Greening Greenpoint hosted its seasonal Free Tree Giveaway on October 20th. Greenpointers took home trees to plant in their yards this fall! If you weren't able to get a tree this season, make sure to keep an eye out for next giveaway in the spring.
On October 3rd, community members came together to hear about the current state of Greenpoint's urban forest and brainstorm their visions for its future! In groups, community members discussed their dreams, the challenges, and the key players associated with the neighborhood's urban forest. This feedback will be used when creating Greenpoint's Forest Master Plan.
Greenpoint community members came together to care for trees on Java Street! The volunteers learned hands-on tree care: weeding, cultivating soil, spreading mulch, and watering. Thanks to the volunteers for their hard work; a total of 21 trees were stewarded!
Students from the Trees New York Young Urban Forester Summer Internship program worked with middle school students from the Greenpoint YMCA to steward trees! Greenpoint YMCA students participated in a tree identification workshop then joined the Young Urban Foresters in weeding, cultivating, mulching, and watering street trees.
Staff from Eagle Street Rooftop Farm hosted teens from the 92nd St. Y to care for street trees in northern Greenpoint. The volunteers cleaned, cultivated, and mulched tree beds on Franklin St., Dupont St., and Eagle St. Afterwards, students were given a tour of Eagle Street Farm!
On Saturday, June 25, Greenpoint Boy Scout Troop 469 and Brooklyn Girl Scout Troop 2966 volunteered in Lentol Garden. The scouts spruced up the garden by removing litter, weeding, and spreading mulch in planting areas. Lentol Garden is a wonderful community space in Greenpoint - thanks to the Scouts for making it even more beautiful!
The 5th Grade class of Greenpoint Eco-School PS 110 worked very hard on a street tree project during the spring! The students learned about the environmental benefits of trees, identified tree species in McGolrick Park, designed educational signs, and then installed the signs in tree beds around the school. Check out the students' amazing work and learn a few things about the environmental services of the trees in our community!
During an after work event, Greenpoint community members cared for trees in McCarren Park at the corner of Manhattan & Driggs Avenues! Volunteers learned how to dig out grass and weeds from around trees on the lawn and create mulch rings around them. Thanks to everyone who came out - 20 trees were stewarded!
If you've walked through McGolrick Park lately you may have noticed an addition to our community - a new tree! On Saturday May 14, we worked at the PS 110 PTA Giving Back to the Future Community Service Day in McGolrick Park. Along with planting a new Black Oak tree in the park, community volunteers picked up litter, mulched trees, and worked in the urban oasis bird sanctuary. Thanks to everyone who cared for the park!
How did you celebrate Arbor Day?? We hosted a tree stewardship workshop with our friends at Trees New York! Students from the Stuyvesant Environmental Club came to Greenpoint and learned how to care for street trees. The club members stewarded tree beds on Leonard St. by clearing them of litter and weeds and spreading mulch. Thanks to the members of the Stuyvesant Environmental Club for their hard work!
Greenpoint Eco-School PS 110 celebrated Earth Day with outdoor activities in McGolrick Park! Over two days, Thursday, April 21 and Friday, April 22, every class from PS 110 visited the park and participated in bark rubbings, natural-item collection bags, and a tree identification scavenger hunt.
Check out these great signs made by the PS 31 Green Team! Students from the school also planted daffodils with Greening Greenpoint this Fall.
On the morning of Saturday, March 19th Boy Scout Troop 469 joined Greening Greenpoint for a day for a day of service. The Scouts mulched around the trees in transmitter park and learned about the importance of trees in the New York City.
